Our client is an end-to-end water treatment solutions provider, operating in the mining & metals, petrochemical, food & beverage, and municipal sectors across ANZ and EMEA.
They deliver services including design & construct, design, construct & operate, consulting, and equipment supply for major capital projects in Australia and internationally.
Position Summary
The team has a new opportunity for an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality performance across a $50 mine water treatment plant project during its 6-month construction phase, and to oversee HSEQ management for ongoing and future projects.
This role will be based in Adelaide and will require frequent to the project site, providing site-based leadership during construction while ensuring that company-wide ISO systems and accreditations are maintained and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continual improvement of HSEQ systems across the business.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, maintaining accreditations.
- Provide on-site HSE leadership during construction activities, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and control hazards.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and safety training.
- Oversee subcontractor HSEQ management, ensuring adherence to company and client standards.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and manage corrective actions.
- Support project managers and site teams with risk management and compliance advice.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, environment, and quality.
About You
- Minimum 8+ years' experience in HSEQ roles in a heavy industry setting (mining, water/wastewater, oil & gas, construction).
- Proven experience managing HSEQ systems and ISO accreditations.
- Demonstrated leadership in site-based construction HSE roles.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management processes.
- Relevant HSEQ qualifications (e.g. Diploma in WHS, Lead Auditor training, Environmental Management).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the business.
