The companyA well known and highly reputable property-based business that is located in Melbourne's inner north west.  A market leader in their field, they are a diverse organisation that generates revenue from a range of different streams.  They are a dynamic business that is looking to continually improve their systems and reporting and they place a strong emphasis on finding the right culture fit.

The roleYou will be part of a team of high-performing professionals.  You will report through to the Finance Manager and also have regular correspondence with the FC, CFO and wider business.  There is significant scope for personal and professional development for the right candidate.  Diverse in nature, the role will cover a range of duties.  The position is available on a permanent full-time basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Month-end assistance including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and run monthly depreciation
  • Assist with tax compliance including BAS, FBT, WorkCover and Payroll Tax
  • Assist with banking, cash management and bank reconciliations
  • Payroll - manage the fortnightly payroll process with the outsourced payroll provider
  • Assist with the year-end audit process
  • Assist with the group budgeting and forecasting and periodic reporting
  • Ad-hoc analysis, project work and reporting tasks for the group as required

The successful candidateThe following will be favourably looked upon:

  • Commencement of their CA/CPA qualifications or about to commence
  • Relevant tertiary education in accounting
  • Experience in a relevant industry is preferable but not essential e.g. property
  • Big 4 or mid-tier candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with month-end, BAS preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A terrific attitude and work ethic
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail
