Technical Sales Engineer – Instrumentation & Industrial Solutions

Sydney (Melbourne or Brisbane) | Full-Time | National Travel Required

ProDetec
 is seeking another experienced and self-motivated 
Technical Sales Engineer
 to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to take on a key commercial role within a company known for delivering high-performance solutions across industrial safety, process instrumentation, fire protection, emissions monitoring, water analysis, and more.

We partner with leading global manufacturers to supply and support clients in 
oil & gas, mining, food & beverage, water, manufacturing, and chemical industries
. You'll be empowered to work across a 
broad portfolio
 of technologies — from gas detection and flame detection, to turbidity meters, microbiology monitoring, and static grounding systems. Take your pick

In this role, you'll work closely with our 
Head of Sales
, and a collaborative support team that enables you to focus on what you do best — engaging clients, solving problems, and delivering solutions. You'll be focused on identifying and
pursuing new business opportunities, actively engaging the market,
and
driving growth
through
outbound prospecting, solution-based selling,
and regular site visits.
Interstate travel
is structured and
planned monthly to support proactive business development efforts.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience
    in technical or solution-based sales
  • Background in 
    instrumentation, process control, industrial safety, or fire protection
  • Engineering qualifications (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, etc.) are preferred but not essential
  • Based in 
    Sydney
    , with flexibility for the right candidate in 
    Melbourne or Brisbane
  • Strong communication and proposal skills; ability to engage at all organisational levels
  • Experience managing 
    long-cycle technical sales
     with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce)
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a national team
  • Willingness to travel several days per month (pre-planned and strategic)
