Turners Engineering is 70+ years young and has evolved into a successful multifaceted business covering areas of Mining and Civil Contracting and Plant Hire, Heavy and Light Manufacturing including design and Conversions, Machinery Sales, Roadworthy Inspections, and Property Development and Investment. The group proudly employs more than 200 Australians and has established relationships with the National Trust and local Indigenous communities.

We are seeking a Group Accountant to join our team and support the Turners Group grow whilst ensuring all compliance and governance requirements are maintained.

What you will Bring to the role

  • Degree qualified in accounting, finance or related field. CPA/CA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior accounting or financial management role. Experience in the mining / civil contracting sector preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally in a fast-paced environment, with an inquisitive mindset.

What you will be doing

  • Take ownership for the effective and efficient delivery of the day-to-day financial transaction capture, processing and reporting of a mature multi-faceted business.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all financial statements and monthly management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and relevant tax legislation.
  • Assist with management of Daily Cash Flow, Working Capital and Treasury Functions.
  • Partner with Internal and External stakeholders to ensure efficient financial processes.
  • Actively support the COO with financial data for board presentations and suggestions for enhanced efficiencies.
