Department OverviewThe Senior Project Manager/Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of assigned projects and governance of all projects as a portfolio of work for Motorola's customers in a defined territory.

The objective of this role is to professionally deliver assigned projects and govern all other projects, both internally and externally, that satisfy key project (tactical) and commercial & contractual (strategic) objectives. The Senior Project Manager/Program Manager will operate with a 'client centric' focus.
Job Description

  • Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.  

  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.  

  • Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance.  

  • Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.

  • Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status.

  • Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.  

  • Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance.  

  • May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.


Basic Requirements

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or certification in Project Management or Business Management (PRINCE2, PMBOK).
  • Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or similar).

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Communications, Electrical / Electronic), Information Technology or related discipline.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 10 years multi-disciplinary experience in project management within the information technology and/or telecommunications industry.

Desirable:

  • Experience in radio communications or communications infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering or Defence Engineering principles.
  • Contract and financial management.
