Founded by passionate community members in Newcastle in 1992, we've grown into a leading not-for-profit service provider throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Hunter Region, Upper Hunter and the Central Coast.
In 2023, we proudly merged with Early Links, professionals in allied health and early intervention teaching who support over 1,400 children and youth. Together, we support almost 1,800 individuals of all ages, empowering them to achieve their goals and dreams.
The Opportunity
We are seeking Speech Pathologists to join our team of highly skilled professionals to deliver comprehensive assessment, therapy, and consultancy services to people with communication and swallowing difficulties. This includes collaborating with clients, their families, their broader support networks, and external agencies to ensure holistic and integrated care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and intervention across a range of practice areas, including but not limited to speech, language, social awareness, fluency, voice, swallowing/feeding, written communication, and Alternate and Augmentative Communication (AAC) with individuals across the lifespan in a range of settings.
- Engaging in person and family-centred practice using strengths-based approaches to provision of services.
- Work with families, carers, educators, and other health professionals to provide collaborative support for clients.
- Provide consultancysupportto families, external agencies and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain quality documentation, objective record keeping and reportingfunctions to align with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Utilize time efficiently to achievebillable targets.
- Maintain professional knowledge to ensure ongoing evidence-based practice and client-centred care.
About You
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills to allow efficient and autonomous management of caseload.
- Professional behaviour, including treating others with respect and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Commitment to a positive team culture and active willingness to participate in collaborative learning with peers.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, person-centred andstrength-basedapproaches to Speech Pathology practice.
- Knowledge of NDIS procedures and documentation requirements is preferred.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent)
- CPSP status with Speech Pathology Australia (provisional and full CPSP status are both accepted)
- NDIS Worker Check
- Working with Children Check (paid employment)
- NDIS Worker Orientation module completion certificate
- Current drivers licence
- Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- Right to work in Australia
