The Gardens Club is a vibrant café and unique events venue nestled in the beautiful Brisbane City Botanic Gardens. Operating 7 days a week, we're more than just a hospitality business — we're a certified social enterprise and not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating training and employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to work.

In addition to our thriving café trade, we host a variety of events including weddings, corporate workshops, and private celebrations in a truly one-of-a-kind setting.

The Opportunity

We're on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Chef to join our small and passionate team. In this role, you'll support our Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, and step up to lead in their absence. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit crew where your ideas and initiative are valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef with daily operations and food preparation
  • Oversee kitchen operations when the Head Chef is away
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety
  • Contribute to menu development and kitchen efficiency
  • Assist with stock ordering and inventory management
  • Support catering for weddings and corporate events (experience a bonus)

About You

  • Cert IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent work experience)
  • Previous experience in a similar chef role
  • A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Passionate about good food and making a difference in the community
  • Available to work weekends (limited evening/night work required)
  • Permanent residents only – unfortunately we're unable to accept student visa holders for this role
