This role is classified as Level 3 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $89,140 - $96,482). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
As a rostered shiftworker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA.

The Role
Are you looking to make the next step in your journalism career at SBS News?
This role will include covering both domestic and international news, including both breaking stories and original approved pitches.
The job is central to SBS political coverage and will require a candidate who can quickly build key contacts in the parliament and is able to file compelling content on the top stories from Capital Hill.
Understanding the importance of social media and driving content online is a key part of the role.
About you
- Broadcast reporting experience and have provided content across all of our news platforms: TV, radio, and digital.
- Identifying, arranging, and carrying out interviews as well as chasing exclusive and distinctive elements of stories in the field and from the office.
- An ability to show technical adaptability and flexibility is also essential.
- Strong background and knowledge of international and domestic events, including Federal and State politics. In addition you will have a sound understanding of stories which resonate with our diverse audiences, and knowledge of SBS Charter and SBS Code of Conduct.
- An ability to work a 7 day shift work roster is essential.
