**The Role**

The purpose of this role is to drive the news agenda each morning and coordinate news content for all SBS News platforms.

Reporting into the Canberra Bureau Chief/Chief Political Correspondent within our News and Current Affairs team, this role will see you plan, lead and assist with the daily newsgathering, story research and production of content from our Parliament House bureau.
- Production of live/breaking and longer term news coverage.
- Help coordinate crews for daily news coverage of cross-platform content from Parliament House.
- Be the central point of contact between SBS and other networks
- Production of special events coverage.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who is passionate about SBS purpose and Charter, a great communicator who can respond to rapidly changing and breaking stories. You'll will have an understanding of complex national and international issues as well as:

- Demonstrated experience coordinating news teams and ENG crews.
- Capable of writing accurately and clearly under deadline pressure.
- Demonstrated experience in news production including the ability to work with reporting and production staff to put a bulletin to air.
- Ensure all operations comply with strict editorial guidelines and SBS Codes of Practice.
- An understanding of the important role of news graphics is required.
