The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a workshop and on-site position that requires an immediate start. The successful applicant will play a key role in our operations, working with our team Monday to Friday to deliver high-quality fabrication and welding services to our clients.

The annual salary for this position starts from $77,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a metal fabricator you core responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting and reading technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
  • Measuring, cutting, bending, and shaping metal materials with precision using hand tools, power tools, and machinery like guillotines and press brakes.
  • Operating various welding equipment (MIG, TIG, or stick welding) to expertly assemble and join metal components.
  • Fabricating and assembling structural frameworks, sheet metal parts, and custom products with a high level of accuracy.
  • Performing finishing operations such as grinding, drilling, and polishing to ensure all products meet our high standards.
  • Setting up and operating fabrication machinery.
  • Maintaining and calibrating equipment to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Troubleshooting and performing minor repairs on machinery as needed.

Essential Criteria

The suitable candidate will have the following criteria:

  • Trade qualification or commensurate work experience.
  • Proven experience in a fabrication workshop and on-site.
  • The ability to "hit the ground running" and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid Australian driver's license.
