Role Overview
Malaga Metal Industries is seeking an experienced 1st Class Tradesperson – Sheet Metal Fabrication to join our high-performing team. If you're a master of your trade with a passion for quality craftsmanship and innovation, we want to hear from you
This is an exciting role as the business prepares for intensive growth strategies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in the sheet metal or manufacturing industry who enjoys balancing technical skills with hands-on project coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesRead and Interpret Technical Drawings - Understand blueprints and technical specifications to fabricate parts accurately.
Measure, Cut, and Shape Sheet Metal - Use tools such as shears, guillotines, press brake and rollers to form metal components.
Assemble Metal Components - Fabricate and join components using stainless steel and aluminium TIG welding, riveting and soldering techniques.
Ensure Quality Compliance - Inspect parts and finished products to confirm they meet required tolerances and design specifications.
Follow Safety Procedures - Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards, including the correct use of PPE and safe machinery operation.
Collaborate with Team Members - Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other fabricators to meet production targets and resolve issues.
Maintain Tools and Equipment - Perform routine checks and minor maintenance to ensure machines and tools operate efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience- Australian-recognised trade qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a 1st Class Sheet Metal Fabricator.
- High-level proficiency in sheet metal bending, cutting and welding techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and solve fabrication challenges on the go.
- Strong understanding of materials, processes, and production methods in metal fabrication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team spirit.
- A proactive and solutions-focused attitude.
- Must have permanent Australian work rights
