The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist - Senior (Headspace In-Reach Better Care Together) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide high level mental health assessment and intervention methods that are evidence based and that are child-centred and family-orientated
  • Apply independent level professional judgement to complex cases, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence
  • Utilise well developed communication, interpersonal and consultation skills to provide advice to senior management, and to work in cooperation with the headspace service
  • Contribute to the clinical placements of discipline specific students

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $128,169 - $137,918 per annum

Mental Health and Specialty Services provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented. Under the Bilateral Schedule on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: Queensland, Queensland Health and headspace will work collaboratively to improve access to multidisciplinary treatment and care for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years, whilst supporting integration with existing primary, secondary and tertiary services in Queensland.
