The role manages engagements with multiple customers, supporting their Azure and Databricks environments.

With demonstrated hands-on experience in building and optimizing scalable data processing solutions using Azure Databricks and associated big data technologies, they will stand up new environments, manage and optimise existing environments, and provide best-practice advice and support to clients to optimise their data pipelines and overall, Azure infrastructure.

This role has a solid understanding of Data Engineering concepts, experience with Spark, SQL, and Python programming, and a proven track record of leading teams in data engineering projects, delivering high-performance solutions in enterprise environments.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer-faced workshops with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to confirm requirements, explore the art of the possible and to manage expectations.
  • Lead delivery projects including mentoring and oversight of technical delivery resources. This includes allocating tasks to these resources, managing and guiding them to ensure a timely delivery, performing quality and peer reviews.
  • Leading engagements to design and implement solutions using the following technologies:
  • o Databricks (Strong Focus)
  • o Microsoft Fabric
  • o Microsoft Purview
  • o Azure Machine Learning
  • o Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Synapse
  • o Azure OpenAI
  • Responsible for delivering successful outcomes in client engagements, ensuring an excellent reputation for delivery, and ensuring high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Act as the point of escalation for project related issues.
  • Complete pre-sales activities supporting the sales team such as building proof of concepts, presenting demonstrations to customers, complete high-level designs.
  • Drive the continuous improvements of our implementation methodology and service offerings based on client experiences.
  • Develop documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer of both process and solution to the production team.
  • Product development and IP creation for repeatable solutions.

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience designing and delivering data and AI centric solutions.
  • Experienced in leading projects and mentoring of more junior resources.
  • Experience working with an external customer base, ideally in a consulting capacity.
  • Experience and high degree of comfort working with varied stakeholders up to and including C-level.
  • Experience in architecture and pre-sales.
  • Ideally have experience with Generative AI, machine learning and predictive analytics solutions.
