The St Michael's Visual Arts Faculty is excited to be looking for a creative and energetic educator to join our teaching team in the Senior School. As a full-time Visual Arts Teacher, you will enjoy an attractive teaching load across Years 7 to 12, along with the opportunity to engage in our renowned pastoral care and wellbeing program as a House Tutor. We are particularly interested in teachers with experience and expertise in Photography and / or Ceramics, with proven capability to teach Art Making & Exhibiting at VCE level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons in Visual Arts classes across Years 7–12, including mixed-ability classes
  • Support student wellbeing through active participation in the School's pastoral care programs
  • Contribute to the School's co-curricular offerings in accordance with the role's time fraction
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching, learning and caring

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in teaching (primary) and relevant methods
  • Understanding of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project (highly regarded)
  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Anaphylaxis Management, Level II First Aid Certificate and CPR
