Educational Leader/ Admin Assistant 37.5 hours per week

Little Environeers is on the hunt for an incredible Educational Leader/ Admin Assistant to join freshly renovated service in MacLeod. Our current Educational Leader will continue in their role until the end of the year, before they head off on a working holiday overseas. This will mean that you will use the handover time as an opportunity to get to know all the ins and outs of our service, supporting the team on the floor and assisting with administrative3 duties as required. We are not your ordinary early learning service, so are seeking educators who are seeking a change and incredibly passionate about what they do.

We foster and encourage an outdoor learning program which operates in all weather and have a strong belief in encouraging children to explore and learn in the outdoors in appropriate attire. We encourage risky play and love  when the children are busy making mess.  You will be enthusiastic about our philosophy and lead and implement this throughout the whole team.

While our children don't ask for much, we are looking for educators who;

-Aren't afraid to get muddy and messy

-Understand the benefits of all weather outdoor play

-Willing to ditch the pre set experiences and promote and encourage curiosity by using less toys and more real word materials in the learning environment

-Be able to put the children's needs above everything else 

- Be able to work along side a team of extremely passionate educators and share your ideas and visions for a truly holistic approach to children's learning

- Believe in the beauty of spontaneous leaning experiences and be willing to ditch the pre-set weekly curriculum idea

- Are innovative and passionate about making a difference in all children's lives

- Are able to work with interruptions from the team, families and children and identify areas for support

-Be prepared to mentor and support your team as needed, even if this requires multiple days on the floor to guide practices

Now the Nitty Gritty requirements;

• Experience in a leadership role such as, Lead Educator in an Early Childhood Service or Minimum 5 years' experience working in an Early Childhood Service
• Previous experience in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
• Be able to use social media, google drive and have great attention to detail in ensuring policies and procedures are accurate representations of our service
• Preferable knowledge of using OWNA
• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations and/ or act as a Responsible Person

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or My Time Our Place Framework, Education and Care Services National Law (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)

• Assist the Director/ Nominated Supervisor to provide leadership and management to educators/ staff regarding all aspects of the operation of the service in line with relevant regulations and procedures

• Liaise closely with and provide periodical reports to the Director/ Nominated Supervisor regarding matters relating to the smooth operation of the service
• Must be willing to support the team as required and understand that working in this role requires time on the floor. Educational Leaders must be able to lead by example
