THE ROLE - Regulatory Affairs Manager – Cosmetics
Reporting to the Managing Director, this newly created role is pivotal in ensuring all cosmetic products marketed, imported, and distributed by the business comply with Australian regulations.
You'll oversee compliance under AICIS, manage documentation and reporting obligations, assess product classification (cosmetic vs therapeutic), review labelling and advertising claims, and provide trusted regulatory advice across the business.

Key Responsibilities- Ensure all imported and distributed products comply with AICIS, ACCC, and Australian Consumer Law.
- Maintain company registrations and manage annual declarations under AICIS.
- Evaluate and classify products to ensure correct regulatory treatment under AICIS and TGA.
- Conduct ingredient risk assessments and maintain detailed compliance documentation.
- Review product labels, website content, and promotional materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise directly with AICIS, ACCC, suppliers, and external partners on compliance matters.
- Train internal teams on labelling, claims, and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Regulatory Affairs or Compliance within cosmetics, personal care, or industrial chemicals.
- Strong understanding of AICIS frameworks and cosmetic labelling standards.
- Experience interpreting TGA classification and ACCC labelling requirements.
- Excellent written communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High attention to detail, professional integrity, and a proactive approach to compliance.
