The Opportunity

Bellingen Shire Council has an exciting Capital Works delivery program that will be delivered in the coming years.

In the next few years, Council has an ongoing bridge maintenance and replacement program and as well as delivering Special Projects including replacing the iconic Urunga Boardwalk.

Reporting to the Works Supervisor / Gang Supervisor as allocated, these roles are responsible for undertaking a range of labouring tasks and small to medium plant operation associated with the construction, repair, and maintenance of Council's infrastructure.

The successful candidate will bring practical experience in construction and maintenance of infrastructure relevant to Council.  Proficiency in using small plant, hand tools, and power tools is essential.

Experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:  concreting, formwork, chainsaw operation, civil construction, and operating medium plant such as rollers, backhoes, and wheel loaders.

Qualifications that would be an advantage include a current MR truck licence, High Risk Work Licence in Basic Rigging, Dogging and/or Basic Scaffolding, and Working at Heights certificate.

Annual salary of $62,118 to $71,748 (plus super).
