Vanilla is uniquely situated in Eaton Mall, Oakleigh and brings a little bit of the city and Greek culture to Oakleigh over two levels. We are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Job Description

As our Events & Off-Site Catering Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food for events, banquets, and off-site catering functions
  • Collaborating with the team to design and execute menus
  • Ensuring every dish is presented and served to the highest standard

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage kitchen operations during catered events
  • Design menus tailored to client preferences and dietary requirements
  • Ensure food quality, flavor, and presentation meet our standards
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and culinary techniques
  • Support smooth logistics and timing coordination during service

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a banquet or events chef in a high-volume catering environment
  • Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cuisines
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience highly preferred
