About The Role

The organisation is looking for a motivated and experienced APS6 Senior Program Officer to join a high-performing team managing a network of international offices. This non-ongoing role, based in Canberra, offers the opportunity to engage with global stakeholders, lead program delivery, and drive process improvements.

Level/Classification: APS6

Contract Type: Labour Hire

Contract Duration: 6 Months + 1x 12 Months

Location:Canberra, ACT

Requirements:

  • Must have BASELINE clearance
  • Selection Criteria response
  • Must be able and willing to undergo a police check

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support management of a network of international offices and programs
  • Build and maintain culturally sensitive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage contracts, tenders, funding agreements, and financial reporting
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics for high-level international and domestic visits
  • Organise and provide support for meetings, including advisory council sessions
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, and correspondence
  • Identify opportunities to improve program processes, data collection, and business practices
  • Facilitate integration of international offices with central operations
  • Provide support in recruitment and onboarding for international office staff

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and financial management skills
  • Strong program/project management experience with continuous improvement focus
  • High-level written and oral communication, including drafting contracts and briefing materials
  • Well-developed interpersonal and liaison skills with a culturally sensitive approach
  • Experience using project management and record-keeping systems
  • Leadership capability aligned with APS values, fostering collaboration and team productivity
  • Event and logistics management experience is highly desirable
