Finance Manager

Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service (YWAHS) is a Specialist Aboriginal Family Violence Service, which is an independent Not for Profit (NFP) organisation, who delivers services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples living within the catchments of Wellington and East Gippsland Local Government Area's.

We provide culturally safe and holistic services including counselling, clinical and therapeutic support and referral pathways. We develop, implement, and deliver family violence education and prevention programs and provide advocacy and post intervention support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and their families.

We support the recovery and healing of Aboriginal victims, individuals, families, and communities affected by family violence, and provide support to perpetrators of family violence, linking them into programs and services to address their behaviour and to help them build tools around respectful and healthy relationships with their partners, children, and extended family.

Our focus is on providing Aboriginal led solutions, which are 'trauma informed,' culturally safe, within holistic models of health and wellbeing.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Finance Manager will show financial leadership, initiative, innovation and sophisticated business acumen to the financial dealings of YWAHS.

The position is responsible for the overall finance functions of YWAHS, including but not limited to, management reporting, audit support, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll authorisation.

The position is also responsible for overseeing the improvement of financially related internal controls and processes across the wider organisation and to support operations through effective management of YWAHS's finances.

Position can be based in Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale or Sale.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGABILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Education and Experience

• CPA or CA qualified

• 5 years demonstrated senior financial team management, reporting and control experience
• A thorough understanding of financial governance practices
• Timely provision of reliable, detail focused, reports

• Experience in managing / leading work teams

• Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced level skills in Excel and other reporting systems and tools

• Experience in preparing financial reports and interpreting and analysing ongoing business performance
• Proficiency in Xero would be an advantage
• Previous experience working in an Indigenous organisation
• Exceptional communicator –in writing, spoken word and presentation
• High level attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a team and independently
