This role is based in our Head Office, Grosvenor Place, Sydney.  The office is within walking distance from the train station.  There are plenty of options for lunch and catching up with colleagues or friends after work. 

What you'll contribute to

To support the Risk function in the management and optimisation of underwriting, collections and loss recoveries through the deployment of MIS, Analytics, Decision Systems and management of a robust risk data infrastructure.

How you'll make an impact

Operational

  • Implementation of strategy changes within the Risk Decision Systems and ensuring automated paths for both acceptance and collection activities
  • Contribute to the production of ad-hoc reporting for projects and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic input into the Data Warehouse and Analysis environment and manage day-to-day integrity issues.
  • Management of existing databases utilized by the Risk Management team and routine data upload processes (e.g. comprehensive bureau)
  • Provide input into the overall organization's governance of BI framework on behalf of risk management for e.g. BI Portal, Data warehouse, Datamarts, Data Dictionaries etc.
  • Hands on involvement and insight with key projects that relate to systems used in Risk Management e.g. CA, DP3 Fleet

Support the following activities as and when required

  • Co-ordinate cross-functional project teams to solve problems and achieve performance improvements within portfolio/best practice area.
  • Participate in wider Risk Analytics/Legal and Compliance lead initiatives e.g. Project X

Policy, Procedure & Process

  • Keep abreast of and adhere to TFS Policies and Procedures and provide accurate information in line with product knowledge to customers at all times
  • 100% compliance with all relevant legislation including Consumer Credit Code, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, Financial Transactions Reports Act, Proceeds of Crime Act

KPIs

  • Achieve specific KPI's - actively seek feedback and focus on areas of improvement Relationships
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal parties that interact with the decision support systems.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with external/3rd Parties (where appropriate).

Projects

  • Take the lead as a Risk Representative for projects as required.
  • Take the lead as the Risk Management TCR Project coordinator. Work with TS, PMO and the Risk Management project owners.
  • Work to leverage appropriate prioritisation to ensure interests are met
  • Coordinate the Staff Engagement Survey For Services as well as facilitate the review of Tower Watson Survey and action items for Risk Management

Kaizen

  • Participate in Kaizen activities and contribute feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement and efficiency.

Your attributes

  • Educated to a degree level in numeric discipline
  • A successful track record in Credit Risk Management or related field (min 8 years)
  • Strong analytical skills, experience in business use of statistics is a pre-requisite. Good working knowledge of SAS, Python, Credit Decision Engines, API testing and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data Warehouse Systems.
  • Experience/ exposure with Programming (Scripting), SQL, Databricks
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong capabilities to articulate complex analytical information.
  • Vendor management experience
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Banking or financing background
  • Handling workshops involving multiple teams
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Good commercial business acumen
