Position Information

Bonnet Bay Public School is a small, inclusive primary school situated in the tranquil bushland setting along the Woronora River in the southern suburbs of Sydney's Sutherland Shire. Our school consists of 9 classes with 198 students, including 4% Aboriginal students and 8% from English as an Additional Language/ Dialect (EAL/d) background. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Itinerant Support Hearing Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a teaching caseload of students, from diagnosis (pre-school) to Year 12, across various schools and approved educational settings within the Sutherland Shire. The position is based at Bonnet Bay Public School, where regular team meetings and professional learning sessions will take place. Suitable applicants must possess a current driver's licence and be willing to travel between different work sites.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Hearing Impairment Primary & Secondary and Hearing Impairment Itinerant for children who are deaf or hard of hearing from diagnosis to Year 12.

Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate quality inclusive hearing programs to meet the complex needs of deaf and hard of hearing students, from time of diagnosis to Year 12 across varied educational settings.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively collaborating with colleagues, staff, students, families, and external agencies to support deaf or hard of hearing students from diverse backgrounds.

Demonstrated strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills to effectively manage caseloads, scheduling, and documentation in a dynamic itinerant teaching role.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
