We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Drafter - (Primary Electrical) in a permanent role for our client who are an established but growing organisation in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector. The role would ideally be based in Brisbane but our client is also open to Sydney.

Responsibilities
:

  • Undertake the interpretation and implementation of design information provided by Primary Design Engineers and Design Managers.
  • Manage and produce high-quality design artifacts and technical documentation within agreed deadlines and standards.
  • Develop CAD drawings in AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure completeness of drawings before issuing for manufacturing/construction.
  • Collaborate with the Primary Engineering Team to support the design of high voltage infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
  • Review and analyse project requirements, providing technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all design work
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in HV design for electrical substations would be preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/ MicroStation software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary studies in a relevant field are highly regarded for this position. However, candidates with substantial hands-on experience and a proven track record in HV Electrical Design Drafting will also be considered. A combination of relevant qualifications and practical experience are desirable.
