The Challenge: Double our global digital revenue in the next 18-24 months.

You've probably used our product, but you may not be familiar with our company name. We are a household-name ecommerce leader, operating across two continents and nearly 60 countries. From our base in Brisbane, we are embarking on a radical, board-sponsored digital transformation to redefine our global marketplace.

The Role: Architect of Growth

This is a hands-on leadership role with global responsibility. You will not be building a large hierarchy; instead, you will be inheriting a lean, sharp team and empowering them with a clear vision, strategic direction, and cutting-edge technology. Your mission is to architect, build, and scale the platforms that will drive us to the next level.

You will be the nexus between our ambitious commercial goals and the technical execution required to achieve them.

What You'll Do:

• Architect and execute a composable commerce strategy, leveraging MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) to dismantle monoliths and build for unparalleled agility.
• Implement a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and real-time analytics to power one-to-one customer journeys, dynamic pricing, and AI-driven recommendations.
• Own the end-to-end Core Web Vitals and performance engineering roadmap, ensuring our storefront is blisteringly fast and conversion-optimised across all touchpoints.
• Design systems for massive, elastic scale to handle peak traffic events seamlessly, leveraging serverless architectures and advanced cloud infrastructure.
• Embed A/B testing and feature flagging across the entire platform to de-risk deployments and continuously optimise the user experience.
• Act as the key liaison between the C-suite, global commercial teams, and your engineering squad, translating business objectives into a clear, actionable technical backlog.

Who You Are:

• You see "nearly double the revenue in 18-24 months" not as a daunting goal, but as an exhilarating puzzle to solve.
• You have a proven track record of leading lean, yet high-impact software development teams in a global e-commerce environment.
• You don't just manage; you architect, you code-review, and you understand the intricacies of headless CMS, PWA (Progressive Web Apps), and API-led integrations.
• You speak fluently about omnichannel orchestration, checkout optimisation, and subscription commerce models.
• You are a strategist who can articulate the "why" behind a microservices migration and a pragmatist who knows how to deliver it incrementally.
• You are based in or willing to relocate to Brisbane, and you thrive in a high-accountability, low-bureaucracy environment.

• 1-2 days per fortnight in the office, available to attend various board meetings with a day's notice (hence the Brisbane local requirement).
• Combining technical expertise, board-level sponsorship, and a global scale is a rare achievement.
• Lead a global digital eCommerce transformation from our Brisbane hub. *Some travel may be required, but it's rare, let's say 2-3x per year.
• You will own the technical direction for a world-recognised product suite.
• While not guaranteed, executive performance bonuses have been paid in four of the last seven years, based on the achievement of significant company goals. Your success in this role will directly contribute to this outcome.
