Systems Engineer – Defence Sector Projects (Brisbane)

Permanent or Contract | Australian Security Clearance Required | Brisbane

We are seeking a Brisbane-based Systems Engineer to support client engagements involving secure systems integration, simulation environments, and application lifecycle management. This role is suited to professionals with strong infrastructure and tooling experience in classified or security-sensitive environments.

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux systems across isolated and cross-domain environments
  • Configure and support Storage Area Networks (SAN), data diodes, and secure transfer mechanisms
  • Deploy, manage, and script engineering applications and simulation platforms
  • Perform system administration, patching, and configuration management
  • Support data migration, application packaging, and lifecycle operations
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to secure-by-design solution delivery

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or secure application deployment
  • Familiarity with defence-grade tooling, simulation environments, and cross-domain solutions
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation of deployment workflows
  • Experience administering engineering tools (e.g., modelling, simulation, CAD, or analysis platforms)
  • Understanding of secure enclaves, segmentation, and compliance-aligned operations
  • Australian citizenship and current NV1 or higher clearance (or ability to obtain)
