We're partnering with a leading professional services organisation in the CBD who are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their high-performing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of financial and management accounting responsibilities and is looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of core accounting deliverables and play a key role in month-end, reporting, and business partnering. You'll also gain exposure to upcoming acquisitions and can broaden your skillset in a growing, forward-thinking business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Month-end close, journals, and complex GL reconciliations
  • Preparation of management reporting packs with insightful commentary
  • Budgeting and forecasting (budget cycle about to commence)
  • Statutory payments – payroll tax, workcover, superannuation
  • Supporting external audit, tax, and year-end processes
  • Reviewing and approving invoices, liaising with AP and payroll teams
  • Leading variance analysis and providing commercial insights
  • Acting as a backup for commission calculations

Systems in use include Oracle Fusion, FastTrack (Payroll), and Employment Hero, though prior experience with these systems isn't essential.

About You

You're a hands-on accountant with at least 5 years' experience managing the end-to-end month-end process and reporting to head office. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are confident working across multiple stakeholders, and can be relied upon as a safe pair of hands to keep things running smoothly.

You'll bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
  • Solid financial and management accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver meaningful commentary
