About the role

The Language Testing and Customer Service Officer plays a key role in supporting RMIT University Pathways' language testing operations and delivering exceptional client service. In this role, you'll provide accurate and timely assistance to students, test candidates, and other clients Whether responding to phone, email and in person enquiries, or completing administrative tasks for the language tests.

You'll support the smooth delivery of PTE Academic and IELTS tests, ensuring all processes meet strict compliance, quality, and security standards. This includes managing daily test operations, maintaining accurate records, completing \pre- and post-test administration and reporting.

As the first point of contact, you'll also perform professional front-of-house duties and contribute to the overall success of the Language Testing team by promoting RMIT English language courses, supporting marketing events, and working collaboratively to meet service and business goals.

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in providing high-quality customer service within a professional or commercial environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, internet-based applications, and payment systems (including EFTPOS).

  • A proactive, flexible, and can-do attitude with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, data security, and compliance with procedures.

  • Willingness to learn and keep skills and product knowledge up to date.

Desirable:

  • Experience communicating with people whose first language is not English.

  • Knowledge of or experience with IELTS and/or PTE Academic testing processes.
