Sydney Airport Demand Management Compliance Committee roles – Chair and members

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the roles of independent Chair or as independent Members on the Sydney Airport Demand Management Compliance Committee. These roles are part-time statutory appointments for up to 3 years.

The Committee is a key element in the Australian Government's reforms to the allocation and management of slots at Australia's busiest airport. The Chair will be responsible for leading the Committee, advising the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure on matters of slot misuse, compliance and enforcement at Sydney Airport. Members will be responsible for supporting the Chair and other members of the Committee in undertaking its compliance and enforcement advisory and reporting tasks.

A suitable candidate for Chair should have experience in leading a high-level committee providing clear and informed advice on regulatory compliance and enforcement to a Minister and senior public servants. Experience at a senior leadership level in one or more areas of competition policy, economic regulation, regulatory compliance in a regulated infrastructure sector would be highly regarded. A suitable candidate for a Member should have experience in forming evidence-based advice, an ability to critically analyse and interpret data and senior level experience in compliance and enforcement operations, competition regulation or regulatory compliance in a regulated infrastructure sector.

Knowledge of the aviation sector, particularly slot management is highly desirable but is not essential for either role.
