Job Description

  • A dynamic and constantly evolving role within the Jetstar Airport Operations Team
  • Permanent full-time opportunity, working across a 7-day rotational shift roster
  • Based at Sydney Airport

The Opportunity

The Jetstar Airports team play a pivotal role in supporting the operational excellence of our passionate, frontline airport team. Creating a safe and enjoyable customer experience is at the heart of what we do. As the Airports Resourcing and Operations Specialist, you will hold multiple responsibilities, including being the key focal point for communication and information provision for multiple stakeholders within the airport precinct and the Jetstar Operations Centre.

Reporting to the Airport Operations Manager, this role is responsible for providing day of operations workforce planning co-ordination and allocation, including managing the Real Time application to ensure that airports have sufficient staffing levels to deliver safe, efficient operations.

Success in this role will be delivered by enthusiastic, safe and responsible, solution focused team members who are passionate about ensuring our teams and the operation are provided the support to deliver outstanding outcomes whilst understanding our efficient and lean operating model.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Review and optimise resource allocations 48 hours in advance
  • Managing day of operation tasking for Airport Customer Service (FOH) teams
  • Working within key KPIs based on safe resourcing levels and labour cost management
  • Co-ordinate aircraft movements in collaboration with the Jetstar Operations Centre (JOCC), Jetstar Engineering, Sydney Airport, the ground services providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly operational and labour reporting for Airport Management
  • Using data, identify opportunities to improve operational and OTP outcomes
  • Manage the governance of SERP compliance at the airport and provide Airport Management support of SERP in portfolio airports.

To be considered, key skills will include:

  • Significant knowledge of day-to-day coordination, safety management and operational efficiency in the airport services environment
  • Excellent communication skills and good attention to detail in a fast paced environment with time sensitive deadlines
  • Results driven and resilient approach with the ability to achieve goals despite obstacles, setbacks or uncertainty
  • Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to remain calm under pressure without losing focus on the bigger picture
  • Ability to build effective workplace relationships through developing trust and confidence with others
  • Expertise in appropriate application tools and strong computer literacy
  • A change agent who challenges the status quo and embraces and drives change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work within a shift roster
