An exciting opportunity exists for two experienced Solutions Engineers to join a large-scale Defence program, supporting ICT projects within the Engineering Branch. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and systems engineering expertise across design, architecture, and assurance activities. You'll develop engineering documentation, design patterns, and solution options, while contributing to key decision-making and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver Defence capability outcomes.

Duties

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering teams to ensure adherence to Defence's strategic architecture and capability goals.
  • Evaluate and analyse architecture solutions against Defence's blueprints, roadmaps, and capability requirements.
  • Apply industry best practice in solution design, creating clear and accurate architecture artefacts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Strategy, Capability, and Delivery teams to achieve shared project outcomes.
  • Support engineering assurance processes through documentation, solution presentations, and technical advice.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead workshops, meetings, and solution option discussions.
  • Strong understanding of DODAF, TOGAF, and NAF architecture frameworks, with hands-on experience in enterprise architecture methodologies and modelling tools.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, PaaS, SaaS) and cyber security principles including identity management and secure design.
  • Background in Defence ICT environments with experience architecting and integrating multi-cloud applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to modernise and migrate legacy systems to cloud-based architectures.
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies, particularly cross-domain integrations and gateway architectures.
  • Self-starter who can deliver outcomes independently within complex, fast-paced environments.
