The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solution Architect with deep AWS expertise and a passion for hands-on engineering. This role supports a national security-aligned program focused on secure cloud architecture, deployment, and integration across classified environments. You'll lead solution design while actively contributing to build, automation, and delivery activities.

This is a high-impact, long-term role combining architectural leadership with hands-on technical execution in a secure, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and engineer secure AWS-based cloud solutions for classified environments.
  • Lead technical design, cloud migration strategies, and infrastructure build-out.
  • Implement and automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ISM, Essential Eight, and Defence security frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into cloud services and platforms.
  • Support system accreditation, risk assessments, and control validation.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, deployment documentation, and security plans.
  • Provide technical leadership across cloud automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience architecting and engineering AWS solutions in secure or classified environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and Defence security controls.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, Lambda, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with ISM, Essential Eight, and cloud accreditation processes.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or equivalent highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Australian Citizenship with active
