The Opportunity

This hands on role demands a strategic leader with deep expertise in club operations, gaming management, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance. Must be prepared to run along side our outstanding team every step.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with the club's vision and objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership to foster a high-performance culture across all departments.
  • Oversee all facets of club operations, including gaming, dining, events, and member services.
  • Ensure compliance with the Registered Clubs Act and other industry regulations.

Financial Management & Corporate Governance

  • Craft and oversee capital expenditure plans and annual budgets.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting, including cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Submit mandatory government and regulatory reports, ensuring ongoing compliance with liquor and gaming regulations.
  • Uphold and implement best practices in corporate governance, aligning with legal and ethical standards, in line with the club's constitution.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, staff, external catering providers, and community stakeholders.

Policy Development

  • Create and enforce policies that align with legislation and drive operational efficiency.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience:
     A minimum of three years in a similar role within the registered clubs or hospitality industry.
  • Leadership:
     Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive organisational success.
  • Financial Acumen:
     Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with a focus on long-term sustainability.
  • Compliance:
     Strong understanding of liquor and gaming laws and proven compliance experience.
  • Qualifications:
     Completion of the mandatory Clubs Secretary Manager course or willingness to obtain within first four weeks.
  • Technology Proficiency:
     Proficient in Microsoft 365 (including Co-pilot) and Xero accounting software.
  • Communication:
     Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with members, staff, and stakeholders.

As a registered sporting club , an interest in sport is desirable but not essential.
