Located in a beautifully refurbished heritage building in Melbourne's CBD, our Melbourne team are passionate about delivering great projects, building solid relationships with our clients, and, importantly, doing this all while fuelled by good coffee. Originally formed in 1997 to deliver arguably one of Melbourne's largest master planning projects, New Quay, we continue to be involved in the design and delivery of key design projects of significance across Victoria.
Role overview:
Plus Studio is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our Melbourne team to contribute to the design and delivery of interior projects from concept through to construction. You'll work alongside our experienced interior design team, developing your skills across space planning, design documentation, and material specification. We value creative thinking, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for interior design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organise the samples and materials library, ensuring it remains current and well-presented
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials, finishes, furnishings, and products
- Organise and coordinate CPD training sessions and product presentations for the office
- Support the interior design team with design, documentation, and project delivery tasks
- Assist with space and furniture planning
- Contribute to the preparation of presentations and communication of design concepts
- Source and procure selection of interior finishes, furnishings, artwork and interior signage
- Participate in internal and external meetings as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Design in Interior Design or Advanced Diploma in Interior Design (or equivalent tertiary qualification)
- 1-2 years relevant project experience, recent graduates welcome to apply
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong organisational and administrative capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers and industry contacts
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Appreciation for quality design and pride in their work
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience with Revit
- Experience with Lumion or other visualisation software
- Knowledge of materials and suppliers in the industry
- Documentation experience
