Cremorne, Victoria, Australia Australia Post Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Help us deliver like never before

Australia Post is delivering like never before. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We're delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and our people. We're moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About the opportunity

As our Cost Optimisation Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening our competitiveness and shaping the future of our Network Optimisation team. This role is focused on driving measurable cost improvements across the end-to-end supply chain, reducing cost per unit while maintaining service excellence and customer experience.

You'll take the lead on cost benchmarking, analysing operational and financial data, and identifying opportunities to remove inefficiencies, improve productivity, and unlock greater value from our existing infrastructure. With your strong financial acumen, commercial mindset, and ability to influence stakeholders, you'll deliver sustainable cost optimisation initiatives that enhance visibility and reduce overall network costs.

This is a highly impactful role for someone who is both results-driven and collaborative, with the chance to make a meaningful contribution to business-wide decision-making and long-term success.

What you'll deliver with us

In this role, you'll take ownership of cost visibility across our entire network, driving initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce cost per unit, and strengthen long-term competitiveness. You'll combine financial acumen with operational insight to deliver meaningful improvements without compromising service, safety, or quality.

  • Strategic impact – Lead end-to-end cost analysis, benchmarking, and modelling to uncover opportunities, highlight performance gaps, and set clear improvement pathways.
  • Financial outcomes – Build robust business cases, ensure proposals are commercially sound, and provide actionable insights that guide decision-making across the network.
  • Customer & community focus – Partner with operations, finance, procurement, and planning teams to align on cost targets, promote continuous improvement, and support scalable, sustainable operations.
  • People & safety – Champion a culture of collaboration, wellbeing, and accountability, keeping both our teams and customers at the heart of every decision.

About you

You're curious, commercially savvy, and passionate about finding smarter ways to deliver results. With a strong background in cost optimisation and supply chain operations, you thrive on turning data into insights and insights into action. You enjoy collaborating with others, influencing decisions, and making a real impact on how things are done.

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in cost optimisation, operations finance, network strategy, or supply chain analytics.
  • You've delivered measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements in logistics or supply chain environments.
  • You're confident working with data, using tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • You communicate with influence and build strong relationships across teams, always linking operational decisions back to financial outcomes.
  • You're adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They're the TIES that bind our team together
