About the Company

ConsultANZ is looking for a Zone Manager for major bulk earthworks projects with a top civil contractor in New Zealand's North Island.

This is an exciting opportunity for senior civil professionals who are ready to take on a key leadership role in a major road infrastructure development.

Main Duties
  • Lead earthworks operations across a designated project zone, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery
  • Plan and implement mass haul diagrams for optimized material movement
  • Manage and monitor the performance and productivity of heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Collaborate with project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to meet project milestones
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Track zone progress, adjust plans as needed, and report to senior management
  • Troubleshoot onsite issues and ensure timely resolution
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience in bulk earthworks
  • Prior experience managing machinery-heavy operations and large teams
  • Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment capabilities and haul planning
  • Proven ability to interpret and use mass haul diagrams for strategic planning
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
