Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We invite applications from an inspiring and dynamic teacher of English, Humanities and Literacy to join our Middle School team. We are seeking an educator who is both innovative and creative, with the ability to ignite curiosity and guide students on their journey of knowledge, critical thinking, and self-advocacy.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching English, Humanities and Literacy within a Middle Years context that values rich, cross-disciplinary learning connections. We are looking for a skilled practitioner who can design engaging, inclusive lessons and foster a genuine love of language, literature and the humanities.

This position is offered as an ongoing full-time role.
Key Focus Areas
- Actively participate in planning, evaluating and developing programs for English, Humanities and Literacy in alignment with the Australian Curriculum and the programs and syllabus guidelines of The Friends' School.
- Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of all students, demonstrating ethical and professional standards.
- Contribute to co-curricular programs, supervisory duties and School events.
- Work positively and collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider community.
- Uphold School policies, expectations and the Quaker ethos in all teaching and interactions.
- Participate in professional learning aligned with the School's Improvement Plan and strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with child safeguarding and mandatory reporting requirements.

Essential Qualifications
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in education and teaching registration in Tasmania (or eligibility to obtain).
Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment category) and a recent National Police Check.
