Come shape the future of education with us.
We are Compass - smart school management in one connected platform. We believe that time spent in the classroom should be for learning and teaching.
Our two co-founders John and Lucas met over a team lunch and while chowing down on their cafeteria sandwiches they bonded over their unapologetically nerdy love for education technology. After months of white-boarding and long days spent writing thousands of lines of code, Compass 1.0 came to life in 2009 in Lucas' parents' garage.
Fast forward a decade - it's no longer just John and Lucas eating sandwiches at the lunch table. Our school management ecosystem is now used in more than 5,000 schools across Australia and beyond. We're joined by over 260+ members of the Compass team, delivering smart school management solutions around the world.
About The Role & Team
As an Account Executive, reporting to our Head of Expansion, you will be responsible for driving the expansion of Compass' Payment module.
This is an exciting opportunity, where the growth to date has primarily come from organic uplift, rather than a specific sales motion. This role will work with our existing customer base who aren't currently utilising the module and could benefit from our Payment offering, including Canteen, Uniform, School fees & Excursions.
You will deliver engaging product demonstrations (in person and virtually), working with various stakeholders across schools whilst partnering internally with our Customer Success team to ensure the best school experience for our prospective schools.
What you'll do:
- Generate a quality pipeline from both incoming leads and targeted outbound lead generation (prospect to purchase)
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets for new business.
- Effectively utilise our CRM software to manage the sales pipeline, including documenting, tracking, and following up on all active opportunities
- Develop, present and maintain an active Territory Plan, which is execution focused
- Work with Marketing to ensure that our messaging in the market and the supporting campaigns are driving the required engagement.
- Support the coordination of complex bid processes, interacting effectively with both internal and external executive stakeholders
- Keep up to date on the Compass product and participate in regular training & informational sessions.
- Support and attend local and national marketing events.
- Collaborate with the Onboarding and Training Team to bring new Customers onto the Compass Platform efficiently.
- Ad hoc tasks as requested by your manager
Requirements
This is what you'll bring...
- Extensive experience selling Payment solutions (5+ years).
- A strong understanding of the Payments landscape in Australia including knowledge of the latest trends and regulations is highly desired
- Proven ability engaging with senior finance executives
- A true passion for putting customers first and delivering a consultative approach to sales
- The ability to build relationships and rapport quickly and effectively across a wide range of stakeholder and personalities
- The ability to work autonomously but also work well within a team environment
- Experience leading and aligning virtual teams.
- Proven ability working with multiple stakeholders, understanding pain points and creating value which drives measurable benefits.
