About the role
Principals of Catholic schools are called to live and promote the Vision, to share and witness to the Catholic faith and traditions, build inclusive communities and deliver contemporary quality learning opportunities for every person.

St Mary's Primary School is located in Young NSW. Young is a town in the South Westersn Slopes region of NSW situated around two hours's drive from Canberra. Young is the Cherry Capital of Australia and hosts the National Cherry Festival each year.

St Mary's Primary School, Young was founded in 1886 and is a Catholic co-educational school offering kindergarten to year six classes and is committed to the development of the individual child academically, socially and spiritually.

The team is trained in the Science of Learning including in Direct Instruction programs such as Spelling Mastery, Connecting Mathematics Concepts and Initialit. Teaching staff have an Instructional Coach trained by Associate Professor Lorraine Hammond and/or Toni Hatten-Roberts. They are supported through access to training in the Writing Revolution, La Trobe University's SOLAR program. The school works alongside curriculum writers for Ochre Education and implement trauma informed approaches to education through the Berry Street Education Model.

The Principal leads a team of 37 employees and a student cohort of 223*.

CECG is seeking candidates who can commit to the system's purpose of leading Catholic communities that nurture each person's God-given potential through teaching and service and who will actively engage with the community and grow school enrolments under their leadership.
