About the role
This is a part time role of (20 hours per week) located in Brisbane CBD.
Stanwell is seeking an experienced Operations Governance Engineer to join our Strategic Operational Services team. This newly created, part-time position is ideal for a senior engineer or someone returning to the workforce who wants to make a real impact while enjoying flexibility.
You'll support the delivery of Stanwell's Electricity Maintenance Guarantee (EMG) obligations and provide technical engineering input to establish effective governance processes for production and asset management systems. You'll collaborate with multi-discipline site engineering, maintenance, and production teams, directly supporting Stanwell's culture of good governance and compliance.
Key activities include:
- Provide monthly reports forecasting statutory compliance maintenance scheduled tasks (e.g., pressure safety valve testing), supporting effective planning and scheduling.
 - Ensure completion of risk assessments for statutory compliance work orders, especially when specialist resources, parts, or plant access are limited.
 - Set and maintain high standards of record keeping to ensure data integrity and traceability for Stanwell's EMG requirements.
 - Contribute to process improvement initiatives and participate in audits and reviews to provide assurance to Stanwell's Board.
 - Promote and establish robust Operations Governance practices across the corporation.
 
About you
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (Chartered Member of Engineers Australia and RPEQ registration advantageous).
 - Minimum 10 years' experience in maintenance and asset management of plant and equipment, ideally in the electricity industry or other capital-intensive sectors.
 - Strong understanding of statutory obligations for power station plant and equipment.
 - Proven ability to analyse complex data, prepare concise reports, and deliver innovative solutions.
 - Experience in operational governance, compliance, and risk management.
 - Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and work effectively in a changing environment.
