About the Role
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in tertiary education? Swinburne is seeking a dynamic Learning and Academic Skills Advisor to design and deliver innovative learning strategies that elevate student success. This role will be primarily supporting vocational education students where you'll collaborate with teams to develop high-quality resources and foster critical skills in academic English, computer literacy, maths, science, and more.
You'll be instrumental in enhancing student progression—local and international, through tailored support, creative problem-solving frameworks, and inclusive learning environments. With a focus on continuous improvement and student wellbeing, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to Swinburne's future-focused, industry-engaged mission.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
· Substantial knowledge in two or more of the following areas: (1) Academic Language; (2) Computer Skills; (3) Maths; (4) Science; (5) Learning and Academic Skills.
· Demonstrated ability to implement high quality teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes which respond to a diverse range of student and client needs.
· Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, healthy and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients.
· Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, audit processes and the maintenance of high-quality training and assessment materials.
· Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to develop required outcomes, both within Student Engagement and beyond.
· Awareness and understanding of Vocational Education and Training policies and frameworks.
Qualifications
· Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
· AQF5 level (or above) Qualification in Education/TESOL
· Relevant degree or vocational qualification in areas applicable to Vocational Education programs including evidence of currency.
