The Opportunity

As our founding Academic Dean, you will:

• Build from inception – Design academic policies, procedures, and a future-ready curriculum
• Lead academic excellence – Foster a culture of scholarly excellence and student success
• Drive innovation – Shape industry-aligned programs for leadership in community and health services
• Mentor academic talent – Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing academic team
• Ensure quality – Oversee academic standards, compliance, and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development

• Lead the design and delivery of higher education programs aligned with AQF and industry needs
• Manage TEQSA course accreditation and ensure regulatory compliance
• Oversee learning and teaching plans, including digital learning resources and LMS implementation

Team Building & Staff Development

• Recruit and develop academic staff, supporting excellence in teaching and scholarship
• Build a collaborative and inclusive academic culture
• Foster partnerships with professional and industry bodies

Student Experience & Quality Assurance

• Ensure a high-quality student experience through robust academic policies and support
• Monitor student outcomes and implement improvement strategies
• Work with the Academic Board to review and enhance academic offerings

Strategic Partnerships & External Engagement

• Represent IBC Education in academic and professional networks
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies, institutions, and industry leaders
• Enhance IBC Education's reputation locally and internationally

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Postgraduate qualifications, PHD or equivalent, preferably in Education Leadership, Health and Social Services Management or related fields
• Minimum 5 years in a senior academic leadership role, ideally in higher education
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, academic governance, and quality assurance
• Strong leadership in staff management, mentoring, and academic performance
• Financial and strategic planning capability
• Knowledge of TEQSA and higher education regulatory frameworks in Australia
• Understanding of health and community services education and its societal impact

Specialised Knowledge

• Expertise in academic and corporate governance
• Familiarity with professional accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Commitment to equitable, skills-based education for community development
