At Holy Cross Services (HCS) we are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our Supported Employment Team permanent full time in the Disability Services Department. The role will be based at our client site Mater Hospital South Brisbane. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team, ensuring the delivery of support services to our participants.

About The Role

  • Provide specific training and development to supported employees in the workplace in accordance with their support plans.
  • Ensuring supported employees remain on task.
  • Ability to manage challenging and complex situations and escalate where necessary.
  • Liaise with HCS Cleaning management regarding updates on the progress of supported employees' work and what has been completed.
  • Attend meetings with supported employees as required.
  • Complete administrative documentation in accordance with NDIS
  • Able to write file notes and comprehensive reports for NDIS requirements

About you

  • Certificate III – Community Services or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Cleaning experience is highly regarded but not necessary as training will be provided.
  • Showing initiative and dedication for operating within a person-centered framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills accompanied with conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • A clear understanding of WHS obligations and industry standards.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships with supported employees and other Holy Cross staff.
  • Ability to write objective case notes including any planning documentation.
  • Sharing a sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Ability to think and act creatively, problem solve and develop strategic solutions to work requirements
  • Experienced in MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).

Requirements

  • Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Able to work in a repetitive role that requires a level of manual work, including standing for long periods.
