Primary objective

Lead and drive the Information Management Services function in the successful coordination and continuous improvement

of the delivery of client focussed services.

Context statement

Information Management Services provides best practice advice and records management services to NTG client agencies.

Structured into several work streams, a wide range of services are delivered, including records management, help desk

services, records appraisal, sentencing and disposal, training development and delivery, and Freedom of Information.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Lead strategic initiatives in the management of information across the NTG recordkeeping environment, ensuring

alignment with organisational goals and evolving business needs.

2. Manage and deliver complex projects within the information management stream, including planning, coordination, and

execution of client-focused services. Ensure timely achievement of deliverables through effective resource and

stakeholder management.

  1. Provide specialist consultation and advisory services to client agencies and staff, offering tailored solutions to complex

records and information management challenges across supported business systems and policy frameworks.

  1. Drive continuous improvement through business analysis and process improvement. Identify opportunities for innovation

and implement changes that enhance efficiency and service delivery.

  1. Contribute to knowledge development within the records and information management function by actively engaging in

problem-solving, sharing insights, and adapting to a dynamic and evolving environment.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated expertise in contemporary information and records management systems, policies, standards, and

practices.

  1. Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects, balancing competing priorities and deadlines to deliver high-quality

outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

3. Experience in applying business process improvement and change management methodologies to drive operational

efficiency and service excellence.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate systems and programs, conduct research, and

develop innovative solutions to complex issues.

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver advice and consultation services to

stakeholders.

6. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a focus on building collaborative relationships, maintaining
