Overview of the MCA

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) is Australia's only public museum dedicated to contemporary art.

The MCA presents, collects and engages with the work of living artists in Australia and in the world.

Guided by the principles of belonging, connection and influence, we aim to be the defining platform for contemporary art and ideas in Australia and beyond.

Located on Sydney Harbour at Tallawoladah, a home to stories, art and culture for over 65,000 years, the MCA contributes to the continuity of culture on our site.

We connect the widest possible public to contemporary art through our Collection, exhibitions, events, creative learning and access programs.

Our evolving Collection of over 4,700 artworks is the only public collection in Australia dedicated to the work of living artists, with over a third represented by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, the MCA raises over 85% of its revenue each year through donations and commercial activities to deliver its artistic and engagement programs.

Overview of the position

The Store Inventory & Operations Coordinator reports to the MCA Store Manager. The role is responsible for supporting the Manager in all facets of store operations and administration to maximise revenue, promote the MCA Store and realise the MCA's strategic vision.

The Store Inventory & Operations Coordinator works closely with the MCA Store team to deliver the highest customer service through both the onsite and online store. The role ensures the Store is consistently on brand.

The Store Inventory and Operations Coordinator helps to oversee the daily operations of the MCA Store in collaboration with the part-time MCA Store Team Leader to ensure consistently exceptional customer service standards.

The role is responsible for inventory management. In addition, the role supports the Store Manager with administration duties and ensures the smooth running of the Store in their absence.

The role oversees the online store and liaises with the marketing team to provide content and direction for MCA Store social media and ensure stock levels support upcoming promotions.

The Store Inventory & Operations Coordinator works closely with the Store Manager, Head of Commercial Development and Store Team Leader to maintain in-store merchandising plans to highlight the MCA Collection, to support major exhibitions and identify and deliver other store activations.
