Hillside Mechanical & 4x4 is a fast-growing, family-owned workshop specializing in general mechanical repairs, diesel diagnostics and 4x4 servicing. We pride ourselves on honest workmanship, reliable service and a down-to-earth team culture. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Qualified Mechanic to join our workshop.

About the Role

This is a full-time role working alongside a supportive team in a clean, fully equipped workshop. You'll be responsible for carrying out high-quality repairs and diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles. No two days are the same — from general servicing to 4x4 upgrades, suspension work, air-con repairs and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing and mechanical repairs on all makes and models
  • Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Complete brake, clutch, suspension, cooling system and drivetrain repairs
  • Work confidently with 4x4s, diesel engines and popular touring vehicles
  • Carry out intake manifold cleans, air-con regassing and performance checks
  • Communicate clearly with the team about job progress
  • Maintain a tidy, safe work environment
  • Deliver quality workmanship with attention to detail

About You

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a small, friendly team. A good attitude matters more to us than how many years you've been in the trade.

You will have:

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Good time management and reliability
  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • Experience with 4x4s or diesel vehicles (highly regarded but not essential)
  • A positive attitude and high standards of workmanship
