Role Description/Responsibilities

Green & Sternfeld is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area.

The role will involve:

  • Preparing financial statements and income tax returns
  • Reconciling accounts
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Training and assisting clients to administer their account systems
  • Research on taxation matters
  • Communicating with clients and team members in a professional manner
  • Being aware of existing legislation, current developments and ATO interpretations that may impact on the work performed for clients
  • Follow the firm's current system of work practices

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Financial Statements and Income Tax Return Preparation, General Ledger Management and Account Reconciliation
  • Proficiency in Tax Compliance and Financial Reporting
  • Knowledge of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, and Variance Analysis
  • Excellent Analytical Skills, Attention to Detail, and Problem-Solving Abilities
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective Communication Skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • CA or CPA certification
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within a similar firm
