Who are we looking for?
We have the opportunity for an experienced Commercial Advisor to join our NSW & ACT business to support GHD's continued growth across diverse markets and clients.

You will join a small but empowered team of Commercial professionals to provide Commercial support across a diverse range of stakeholders and projects. The position will interface with internal and external stakeholders and be called upon to protect GHD's commercial interest and support project teams to deliver commercial success.

The role extends through the complete project life cycle from initial teaming arrangements and bid preparation to project delivery. This position will also see you involved in, but not limited to;

• Participate in major and/or complex contract negotiations
• Review and negotiating MOUs, Tender Services Agreements and Consulting Service Agreements for design and construction projects
• Review and negotiate Professional Services Agreements with Government and private clients
• Negotiating Teaming Agreements, MOUs, Joint Venture Agreements and Sub-consultancy Agreements with design partners
• Establishing commercial structures to enable and support project success
• Developing, monitoring and executing Contract Management Plans for large, complex or elevated risk projects
• Complex claims management and negotiations
• Supporting project teams in payment claim preparation including under SOPA
• Bringing all stakeholders to the table to negotiate successful outcomes that are within GHD's risk appetite

What you will bring to the team:

• Demonstrated experience as a Commercial Advisor, ideally within Engineering/Environmental Consulting
• Strong commercial and legal acumen in the professional services and/or construction contracting industry including in respect of negotiating successful outcomes
• High level of understanding of the commercial frameworks and drivers of construction contractors, government, quasi-government and private-sector clients
• Proven experience in pre-contract management, with experience across projects in Transport, Energy, Water and/or Property & Buildings ideal.
• Strong technical aptitude facilitating understanding of scope documents.
• Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated negotiation, stakeholder management and risk management skills
