The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.
Your role
As an Release and Environment Coordinator,
you will play a key role in shaping how SEC manages its systems. You'll help establish and improve the Environment Release Framework, coordinate schedules for non-production environments, and support the overall change and release process across the organisation.
This role can be based in either our
Melbourne CBD
office or our regional office located in
Morwell
.
What you will do:
- Change & Release Governance
- Support the Change & Release Manager by developing, publishing, communicating, and enforcing release management policies, standards, and processes, while representing Change in governance forums (CAB/ECAB) for reviews, approvals, and effective implementation.
- Environment & Release Coordination
- Facilitate end-to-end release management by coordinating communication and integration across environments, including planning deployments, ensuring quality gates and rollback strategies, and maintaining compliance.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, analyse, and escalate risks and issues that could impact timely delivery of releases, ensuring proactive resolution and governance oversight.
- Environment Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of non-production environments, including provisioning, configuration, refreshes, booking, monitoring, maintenance, patching, and documentation.
- Environment Liaison & Support
- Act as the point of contact for environment-related inquiries, managing availability, usage, and timely provisioning to meet business and technical needs.
- Continuous Improvement & Best Practice
- Drive standardisation, strengthen change and release governance, and promote adoption of best practices across all environments and release processes.
Who you are:
Must Have
- Proven experience in environment and release management within a complex enterprise setting.
- Exposure to working with multiple SaaS vendors and managing varying release cycles (e.g., fortnightly, monthly).
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices (Release, Change, Configuration, Incident Management) along with Agile and DevOps ways of working, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Hands-on skills using ITIL tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Highly Desirable
- Background in the Energy sector.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS and/or Azure.
