Your Role
This full-time role is based in our Malaga, WA office, where you'll work independently and as part of a dynamic team, ensuring the successful delivery of a variety of security fencing projects. We're seeking a forward-thinking individual who takes full ownership of their responsibilities, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver strong results.
Roles & Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
- Project Planning & Scheduling – Collaborate with the site team and clients to plan upcoming projects, allocating labour, equipment, and materials efficiently to ensure works commence on schedule.
- Project Delivery – Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to required specifications and quality standards.
- Monthly Claims & Invoicing – Prepare monthly project claims, accurately capturing quantities, rates, and additional works.
- Project Completion Signoff – Ensure all projects are formally signed off upon completion.
- Client Communication – Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation Management – Oversee and maintain all project-related documentation.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage administration, project supervision, warehouse, and field staff to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ensure staff are trained, motivated, and working safely.
- Hiring & Training – Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular welfare check-ins and provide ongoing support.
- Delegate tasks effectively and conduct performance reviews.
- Apply knowledge of fencing products, installation methods, and industry standards to guide teams and make informed project decisions.
Supply Chain Management
- Material Procurement – Oversee the sourcing of project-specific materials and ensure timely delivery.
- Plan logistics for materials, plant, and equipment efficiently.
- Warehouse Collaboration – Work closely with warehouse staff to coordinate material manufacturing and logistical movements.
- Vendor Management – Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure deliveries meet project requirements.
Budget & Financial Management
- Cost Control – Monitor project expenditures and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Invoice & Billing Oversight – Ensure accurate client billing and prompt collection of payments.
- Financial Reporting – Prepare monthly reports for the General Manager, tracking project profitability and identifying opportunities for improvement.
HSEQ Compliance
- Safety Protocols – Implement and oversee safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain the highest quality standards through regular inspections, hold points, and staff reporting.
Customer Relations & Business Development
- Client Satisfaction – Deliver successful project outcomes and address issues promptly.
- Business Growth – Identify opportunities for expansion, including new markets, and assist with bidding on new projects.
- Contract Negotiations – Support contract and project term negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Operational Efficiency – Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations.
- Technology Integration – Use software tools and project management platforms to track progress, manage resources, and improve communication.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in the fencing industry, including proven project management experience either office-based or on-site.
- Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams through coaching and mentoring.
- Calm and effective dispute resolution skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication with clients, suppliers, employees, and managers.
- High attention to detail.
- Competent in reading construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets.
- Extensive technical knowledge of fencing and general construction to troubleshoot design issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to navigate project management/accounting software; Simpro experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Data-driven decision-making and risk management skills.
- Australian work rights are essential.
