Project Engineer / Estimator

Groundtech provides integrated drainage solutions for a variety of companies in Civil, Industrial and Commercial and are a WA owned and operated company delivering industry best practices.

We deliver a range of drainage capabilities with a dedicated, experienced and motivated team. We have a fully equipped fleet of company-owned and maintained plant and equipment for maximum productivity and value-added outcomes.

Groundtech provide underground solutions throughout Western Australia specialising in Civil Stormwater, Sewer and Water installations.

Excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable Project Engineer / Estimator to work alongside the directors and receive mentoring to develop a career within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the project program in respect to underground services working alongside Groundtech Site Manager.
  • Contribute towards quality assurance and inspection.
  • Develop and foster effective and regular communication with the Project Team including suppliers and clients.
  • Ensure activities are carried out in accordance with the Quality Assurance, Environmental Management and Safety Management Plans and other relevant standards and legislation.
  • Complete and setup reporting requirements for QA and progress reporting.
  • Capture and submit variations and progress claims.
  • Understand SOW and follow up on Variations, changes, etc.
  • Submit Work Orders and Clearance to Work for Water Corporation.
  • Reading and preforming takeoffs from plans, drawings and specifications.
  • Obtaining quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain tender database and registers.
  • First principle estimating / build ups.
  • Tendering Submissions including methodologies and programming.
  • Conduct Tender handovers with Project Team.

Skills, Experience & Role Requirement

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field are essential.
  • Practical knowledge in underground civil works desirable (two years of experience preferable).
  • Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal demonstrating the ability to interact with internal customers, external stakeholders and clients.
  • Personal flexibility to operate in a dynamic work environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Water Corporation requirements and specifications.
  • Experience in preparation of first principle estimates and tender submissions.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, oral and written including negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • A positive attitude and good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work autonomously.
